Despite of the changeable weather which was this year extremely warm but sometimes was threatening with flooding, summer flowers look perfectly. The first crop is already removed, in the second field new cultures have been growing up. Tomatoes and cabbages this pleases us with the quantity this year. The pumpkin has been getting its weight with improbable speed; you are able to see it in a photo.

After the evaluation of the data of the Tensiometers we can start the intelligent irrigation. It can be switsched on and of by everyone. The plants have been developed so far that the first harvest will come soon. Initial sceptics are surprised positively by the yield, although the ground leaves a dry impression. Because of the subterranean droplet irrigation the needed level of humidity is available.

The seeding of beds is preliminary finished. The technics of an irrigation has schown its readiness to control the level of the humidity of soil.

On the 5/5/2010 at 10.00 o'clock a.m. some representatives of the city arrived in All Ströbitz. The Landtag representative Kerstin Kircheis was there too. They came by electric cars to open of the pattern garden in "Alt Ströbitz" and welcomed many other visitors.
In her speech Mrs. Tschoppe formulated very exactly the upcoming duties of the time. She told what kind of role the pattern garden can play in the environment policy of the City of Cottbus. Lothar Nicht followed the implementation of Dr. Tino Mosler, specialist for the intelligent irrigation and suggested putting on a pattern garden into every garden-union in Cottbus. Mr. Hübner referred to the fact that without municipal help and the good work of Wolfgang Spenke the result would not had been so perfect. Mr. Thomas Bergner said that he was open to the idea of saving water and energy and drove the attention to the reports of the IWE that take place at Volkshochschule Cottbus.
All together the guests and also the president Karl-Heinz IWE Ricken estimated that the event is a good impulse and can point the way ahead.
