The institute
The institute deals with the research of complex phenomena, causes and effects that occur on our planet because of climate change.
We believe that this global aspect of research has to be assisted by the power of a local action.
The institute is dedicated to the linking between thinking globally and acting locally.
IWE is not only concerned with the preparation of weather reports, the IWE has devoted itself to the analysis of weather data as well.
The access to results is given to different users.
You can become supporters of the IWE with a godparenthood
To become a member you must pay a year:
Adults: 60,00€
Pupils: 30,00€
Agricultural farms: 120,00€
Endowment business: from 600,00€
The institute consists of 3 Columns
- Weather research
- To effectively reduce the water consumption in agriculture we have to develop such methods of measurement, which show the state of soil unequivocally
- We are going to get the plants to the reproducible and universal optimum
- To get a solid water saving we should have the knowledge of the humidity levels in the soil
- The weather around us affects us every day, so it is important to derive long-term trends
- The history of measuring is as important as the actual data
- Energetics
- It is extremely difficult to save energy, but some new methods are already there
- These new routes should be presented attractively to get the local solutions
- There are a large number of energy needs, the solutions are often not effectively – our research can help
- Education
- To create an enthusiasm for a local action, we need to provide the information, which would be permanently available for agriculture and interested persons
- Integration of the project “Spreewald glacier” in IWE (cycles of weather and energy)
- Enormous masses of ice melted suddenly during the last Ice Age and formed the area, which we call Spreewald – it happened though there were no cars, factories and power plants that time!
- Interested persons and companies should be informed about the influence of the weather on our lives
- The amount and quality, the assortment of our food depend on this cycle strongly
- Everybody talks about renewable energy - which is fantastic - just what happens with the current of a wind turbine at night, when less energy is consumed? How do we get our electricity when there is no wind or no sun?
- Are we ready to depend on the wind and the sun in the future? Can we adapt our consumption to them? – What are the alternatives?
- The problem of a constant and solid providing of food has been having only the local solutions till now
- Everyone is talking about global warming - just what will happen, if the ice caps melt and the Gulf Stream gets colder?
- What desert is coming to us - sand or ice one?
